David Hood Ancient History Endowed Scholarship

To provide a scholarship for a History Major with the option in Ancient Greece or Rome or equivalent, Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Criteria:

  • Must be majoring in History with the option in Ancient Greece and Rome or equivalent;
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better in Ancient Greek and Roman history courses;
  • Must have financial need to attend college that would be filled by loans or personal resources in the absence of the Ancient History award (student whose needs are fully met by state or federal grants are not eligible);
  • Must provide a recommendation from at least one faculty member who teaches Ancient Greek and Roman history.

Additional Scholarship Information:

  • Financial needs may include costs of travel study related to the study of Ancient Greek and Roman history;
  • First priority will be given to graduate students meeting the above criteria;
  • Second priority will be given to undergraduate students meeting the above criteria;
  • Students may apply to renew the scholarships for up to two years for undergraduate students and for up to two years for graduate students.
