James E. Green Endowed Award
The purpose of this gift is to benefit students involved in Society of Women in Engineering (SWE), Women in Computing and/or other similar student organizations by providing the student with financial aid assistance.
After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force and emerging as a skilled jet aircraft mechanic, James Green went back to college to pursue a Computer Science degree with help from both the GI Bill and his wife, Catherine, an elementary school teacher. His accolades include being honored as the2018 College of Engineering Distinguished Alumnus. Green led a remarkable career, retiring as the General Manager of IT Service Delivery, responsible for IT strategy, solution development, and service delivery for all of Chevron.
Criteria:
- Must have minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA;
- Must be an undergraduate student;
- Must be pursuing a major in the College of Engineering;
- Must be enrolled full-time (12+ units);
- Must be involved in Society of Women in Engineering (SWE), Women in Computing and/or other similar student organizations.
