The Early Childhood Education Scholarship in Memory of Shirley A. Beck

Shirley was an elementary school teacher for 33 years and Carol was a high school teacher for 34 years. The Early Childhood Education Scholarship in Memory of Shirley A. Beck was established in memory of Shirley, by her sister Carol, to support students in ECE MA program who already have a teaching credential and are teaching in ECE (Grades TK-2nd) classrooms. The purpose of this scholarship is to support elementary teachers in lower grades who are returning for their Master’s in Early Childhood Education.

Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in the ECE MA program at CSULB
  • Must show financial need
  • Minimum GPA 2.75
  • Resident of California
  • Currently in possession of a teaching credential
  • Currently teaching in either grades TK-2nd
