The Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship Fund
The Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship Fund was created by the will of the late Mabel Wilson Richards to provide financial assistance to worthy and needy individuals who reside in Los Angeles (or the other listed cities), and are involved in organizations who support women empowerment. Recipients may receive the scholarship more than once.
Criteria
- Must be a resident of one of the cities listed. Residence is determined in the same manner as at the University of California and the California State Colleges.
- Must have been accepted for admission by CSU, Long Beach.
- Must demonstrate high moral character and good citizenship.
- Must have a Financial Aid application on file for the upcoming year and demonstrate need for monetary assistance for the current semester.
- Must be a citizen of the United States or, if under 21 and not a citizen, either or both parents must be admitted on a permanent resident visa.
- Must be an undergraduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. If a first year student, must have earned a grade average of 3.0 or higher in the last two years of high school.
- Must be enrolled on a full-time basis (12+ units each semester, or 24+ units annually) at time of disbursement.
- Must comply with all rules and regulations as stated in the Will provisions for the administration of this scholarship.
