Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Program
The ZEV Program offers a 4-course certificate program. We are funded by the California Energy Commission to educate and foster the next generation of certified engineers and technicians to combat vehicle smog and greenhouse gas emissions. This is a completely free program that both, matriculated and non-matriculated students, along with community members, may participate in.
The four courses are:
- Introduction to zero emission vehicles
- Energy conversion and storage
- Electric vehicle fundamentals
- Motors and Controllers in Electric Vehicles
While the course is FREE, stipends are available for those who qualify. There are stipends of $2219 each (15 trainees each year). The stipends will be disbursed after the successful completion of the program at the end of each semester.
A new cohort begins each academic semester (Spring 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Fall 2024).
Please email CSULB-ZEV@csulb.edu if you have any additional questions or inquiries about the ZEV Program.
