Dr. Edwin N. Becker Family Endowed Scholarship

The Dr. Edwin N. Becker Family Endowed Scholarship is a renewable scholarship that will provide financial aid support to one undergraduate College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics student, established in memory of CSULB emeritus professor of chemistry, Dr. Edwin N. Becker. The scholarship will be awarded to a College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics student who meets the following criteria:

Criteria:

  • Undergraduate student;
  • Freshman standing (at the time of application);
  • Major or pre-major in the Natural Sciences (biological sciences, chemistry & biochemistry, geological sciences, physics & astronomy, environmental science & policy (B.S. track));
  • Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA;
  • Full time enrollment (12 units);
  • Demonstrates financial need;
  • Preference for first-generation students;
  • Secondary preference for students in one-parent households;

Additional Scholarship Information:
Automatic renewal for up to three years provided the recipient continues to demonstrate financial need, is a major or pre-major in a natural science, and maintains a 3.0 GPA in their major science courses each semester. The scholarship will terminate after any semester in which the major GPA falls below 3.0.
