TELACU David C. Lizarraga Fellowship

This TELACU David C. Lizarraga (DCL) Fellowship Application is for current or incoming Graduate Students pursuing advanced degrees during the upcoming academic year.

Founded in 1983, TELACU College Success Program (CSP) today provides direct services and financial scholarships to nearly 400 first generation college students annually. A full 93% of scholars are from low-income families; 61% are female; and more than 99% earn at minimum a Bachelor’s degree—75% of which are in a STEM or Business discipline. To ensure their students are successful throughout college, they host workshops to develop by professional and interpersonal skills, increase social capital, and expose students to workforce opportunities and diverse career paths. Their goal is that upon graduating, students have become self-sufficient and are prepared to launch their careers as competitive workforce candidates.

Participant Requirements
All individuals admitted to CSP as undergrads are expected to fulfill various requirements including, but not limited to, Session/workshop attendance, periodic full-time enrollment verification, and community service hours.

Eligibility and Priority Criteria

  • First-generation graduate student
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Enrolled full-time in a four-year institution
  • Permanent resident within the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, or San Bernardino
  • STEM or Business major (preferred)
