
Orval Dillingham
The Orval Dillingham Endowed Scholarship was established in 2008 by Shirley Dillingham in memory of her husband. Mr. Dillingham received his BA and MFA from the University of Minnesota as well as an Art degree from the Minneapolis School of Art. He was the very first MFA graduate from the University of Minnesota. Orval taught at the Minneapolis School of Art, the University of Minnesota, and St. Cloud State College before becoming an Art Professor at CSULB. He spent thirty years teaching drawing and painting at CSULB. Mr. and Mrs. Dillingham’s daughter, Bonnie, was a longtime staff member of CSULB.
Impact
In 2016-17 two recipients received scholarships for $1,800 each.
