Linda Warren Graham

Established by Parker Voris Warren & Ruby E. Warren

The Linda Warren Graham Scholarship was established by Parker and Ruby Warren in honor of their daughter Linda, a 1978 CSULB Microbiology graduate. Ms. Warren Graham was a licensed Medical Laboratory Technologist and served as President of the Harbor Chapter of CAMLT (California Associate of Medical Laboratory Technologists). She assisted in teaching advanced hematology in the Microbiology Department and was a tireless promoter of medical technology as a professional career.

During her time at CSULB, Ms. Warren Graham made strong and lasting friendships. Her best friend, Julie Pleso, and she met while they were both members of the skiing club. Pleso described Warren Graham as not only very athletic, but also a stellar academic student. Warren Graham died in a tragic rock-climbing accident in 1983. Her best friend remained in close friends with her parents for over 30 years until their passing.

Her father, Mr. Parker Voris Warren served in the U.S Navy and was one of the survivors of the USS Lexington, an aircraft carrier ship that had been lost during World War II. Mrs. Ruby E. Warren was a described as wonderful wife and mother. She dedicated much of her time in raising Linda and the rest of their family.

The family wished to establish this award to give assistance to students to relieve financial stress, allowing them more time to focus and excel in their education, lab research, and career opportunities.

The College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics expresses gratitude to all scholarship donors who continue to enhance the quality of education students experience at CNSM.
