The Klaus Family Scholarship
Jeff and Evelyn Klaus believe student parents are incredible and inspiring students. They value education and are committed to supporting students. As parents of two small boys, Owen and Carson, Jeff and Evelyn recognize how exhausting raising a family can be. Student parents are dedicated and committed, despite the lack of resources and time.
As alumni of CSULB’s MPA program and current employees at the university, they have been involved with the Pregnant and Parenting Student organization and have both encountered countless parenting students who inspire them to create and advocate for student and family resources.
Jeff was instrumental in helping create a family-friendly study area, mapping the lactation rooms and changing table locations along with establishing the first official support of CalWorks students outside of EOP (Educational Opportunity Program).
The Klaus family is honored to play a small role in helping student parents continue on their path of personal and educational success. To imagine anyone doing it alone means they are dedicated, committed, and well deserving of support.
This scholarship is intended for a current student that is a one custodial parent household of a minor child. Custodial parent is defined as the parent responsible for, or providing protective supervision and guardianship of, a child.
