Gladdes Neff

Gladdes Neff (1902-1999) served 13 years as the executive director of the Tichenor Orthopedic Clinic for Children in Long Beach, California. The Clinic pioneered many rehabilitative techniques in orthopedic injuries and was a major treatment center for the polio epidemic. It has evolved to be a valuable clinical training facility. Gladdes was a member of Soroptimist International of Long Beach for more than 60 years. She was president of the Soroptimist Long Beach during the ground-breaking and building of the CSULB Soroptimist House, which is now the site of the new Alumni Center. She also served on scholarship selection committees who awarded scholarships. Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls direct access to the education and training they need for economic empowerment.
