Alfred Schmidt

Alfred Schmidt, who prepared students to teach in the area of special education before his retirement as associate professor emeritus in 1992, passed away on February 19th, 2003. He taught special needs children in the Bellflower School District before beginning his teaching career at CSULB in 1966. “Al was a magnificent man and one of the most liked and appreciated teachers in the special education program,” says Professor Emeritus Alex Britton. “He had a lot of techniques and programs to teach special education students.”

The College of Education (CED) expresses gratitude to all scholarship donors who continue to enhance the quality of education students experience at CSULB.

Impact

This scholarship was established in his memory for students studying to become special education teachers.
